Damar Whyte won the men’s long jump at the Ontario Open Championships in Canada on the weekend (8-9 Feb).
Whyte, a former UTech athlete, leapt 7.60m for the victory ahead of Yordanys Garcia (DMA) 7.55m.
Shaina Harrison (pictured on the front) won the women’s 60m dash in 7.37 ahead of Sade McCreath-Tardiel, 7.40 and Aiyanna Stiverne, 7.49.
In the U18 60m, Gabrielle Cole was the winner in 7.65.
Brittany Crew threw 18.81m to win the women’s shot put ahead of Sarah Mitton, 17.78m and Trinity Tutti 16.00m.
In Edmonton at the Pandas Open, Benjamin Williams won the men’s 60m in 6.68 ahead of Malachi Murray, 6.75. Williams ran 6.76 in the heats.
Karson Lehner won the men’s 300m event in 33.64 while Vaughn Taylor took the 600m in 1.19.30.
On the women’s side, Sandra Latrace, 7.50 took the women’s 60m while Kendra Farmer, 39.24 was the 300m winner.
