BEIJING, China – Jamaica ran the fastest time of the year in the women’s 4×100 metres to win their heat at the World Championships here on Saturday.

The team running in the order of Sherone Simpson, Natasha Morrison, Kerron Stewart and 100 metres gold medallist, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce clocked 41.84 seconds to finish ahead of Great Britain who did 42.48 as Canada with a national record of 42.60 ended third.

In the second heat, Trinidad and Tobago placed second to the United States of America, who won in 42.00 seconds. Trinidad and Tobago clocked 42.24 as the Netherlands was third in 42.32.
