Elaine Thompson-Herah, Rio 2016 Olympic Games sprint double champion, is celebrating her birthday today, 28 June.

Thompson-Herah rose to prominence at the Beijing 2015 World Championships by narrowly missing the gold in the 200m.

The following year, however, Thompson-Herah beat them all by taking the sprint double in Rio, the first Caribbean woman to achieve the feat. She ran 10.71 in the 100m and 21.78 in the 200m.

Thompson-Herah ranked as the 5th fastest 200m runner and tied with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at fourth on the 100m top list.
