KINGSTON, Jamaica – Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, says she’s confident that the challenges faced by members of the Jamaican team in the Athletes Village at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil are being resolved.
Minister Grange said: “I have been in touch with our olympic team management in Brazil as we’ve all been concerned about the state of the accommodations for a few members of our team.
“The Jamaica Olympic Association has been working with the Rio 2016 Organising Committee on the matter and has reported back to me that ‘the problem is ninety-nine per cent resolved’. This is welcomed news for the whole country.
“I will continue close contact with Team Jamaica to ensure that any issue which may come up is resolved swiftly so that our athletes are comfortable, well and ready to perform at their best.”
