Tynia Gaither finishes third in Texas

HOUSTON, Texas – Javon Francis finished fourth in the men’s 200m and Bahamian Tynia Gaither, 3rd in the women’s event, at Saturday’s (1 Feb) final day of the Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston at Yeoman Field House.

Gaither topped the heat 19 in 23.97s, which gave her third overall behind winner Myasia Jacobs, 23.72 and Imani Nave, 23.97.

Francis ran 21.40 to win heat 12 of the men’s 200m ahead of Davonye Jones, 21.95s. He, however, was fourth overall in the event won by Obi Igbokwe of Htown Speed City in 21.04

Chris Carter won the men’s triple jump with 16.65m and Michelle Fokam, the women’s event winner with 13.05m.

Eric Richards took the men’s high jump 2.25m.

Meanwhile, Kyle Clemons won the 400 m at the Carolina College meet with 46.67.

Another top weight throw mark for Janeah Stewart, 24.58 at Indiana relays day one.

Top Swedish high jumper Erika Kinsey scored 4041 points in pentathlon here, in her speciality she cleared 1.86m.
