KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fifth renewal of the Everyone's A Winner (EAW) Best Dressed Chicken Road Race Series will begin on Sunday, March 8 at Hope Gardens. It continues on Sunday, April 19 and Father’s Day, June 21, when the Series will culminate with a special brunch.

In announcing this year’s event, race director Alfred “Frano” Francis said that like last year, the distances will cover 6K, 7K and 8K with a 5Krun /walk included in every race. He added, “We are aware that the 5K may not be a sufficient challenge for those who complete that distance as part of their regular fitness routine and so we have introduced the other distances as we want to ensure that we keep the race interesting, while catering to the fitness needs of all who participate.” A special stroller category has also been introduced for participants with young children.

Francis said this is also a landmark year for the Series as it celebrates its fifth anniversary and the fourth year of partnership with title sponsor Best Dressed Chicken. “Our title sponsor has given this event a huge boost and we are grateful to them for their continued support which is also benefitting our charity partners.” He acknowledged the affiliation of the EAW with the Diabetes Association of Jamaica and the Heart Foundation of Jamaica and welcomed the Neurological Unit at the University Hospital of the West Indies to the group of charities.

The race director said that EAW has also established a partnership with Pitch & Choose, the Caribbean’s “first regional Crowdfunding platform” serving non-profit organizations and Alumni Associations, which makes it convenient for those who also wish to donate to these charities to do so via the Internet.

Participants in the race are asked to register early, as the series will cap at 2,000 entrants. “The aim is to make Everyone's A Winner a unique experience for all and to encourage each participant to keep improving their performance as the Series progresses,” Francis explained.

To facilitate early registration and improve the process for participants, the EAW organizing team has made it possible for them to register for all three races at the same time. Those who register early on-line before the deadline, can have their Bib delivered within the Corporate Area via a partnership with Pay Pak Couriers. The Team is also exploring the establishment of an on-line account for each registrant.

Entrants are cautioned, however, that one Bib will be issued for all races and that a fine will be imposed for lost Bibs.

The route for the 5K will see runners / walkers starting at Palm Drive, and then exiting Hope Gardens through the Historical Entrance, up Old Hope Road. They re-enter Hope Gardens at the Eastern Entrance, pass the Sunken Gardens before exiting by the Zoo onto Gibson Drive, then to East Charlemont Drive, left on South Monterey, right on Hope Boulevard, left on Gibson Drive, right onto South Monterey, left on Hope Boulevard, left on Old Hope Road, to re-enter the Gardens via the Historical Entrance to finish on Palm Drive.
