MOSCOW (RUS): A Russian court has thrown out two lawsuits, against the creators of the ARD documentaries into Russian doping, filed by the Russian athletics federation and its ex-president Valentin Balakhnichev, report AP.

The court in the city of Samara rejected both lawsuits. The lawyer representing Balakhnichev and the federation has said that the ruling will be appealed. 

Meanwhile, US half marathon record holder Ryan Hall and Sara Hall, the top US finisher in the senior women’s race at the world cross country, have announced that they have adopted four Ethiopian sisters.

The pair have trained in Ethiopia in 2014 and 2015 and have already been involved in charitable projects in the country.

A new indoor athletics facility in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium has got the go-ahead, report RTBF. The facility will have a capacity of 2500 with 2000 seating.

Belgian 4x400m coach Jacques Borlée spoke with great pleasure at the announcement, exclaiming that he has waited over 35 years for such a facility.

“Today, we finally see the end of the tunnel, it is an extraordinary event for the course because the athletics track will be of very high quality, but also for sport in general.”

It is expected to open in autumn 2017. Work should begin in the summer of 2016.
