Former world 200m champion Dafne Schippers will run at the FBK Games, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold Meeting on 6 June.

The Dutchwoman will compete over 100m as she looks to make progress under a new coaching regime set up last autumn.

She said: “Together with a new team of fitness coaches and Wigert Thunnissen, I have worked incredibly hard and in detail on my recovery and to gradually get back into competition again. We have made great progress.

Dafne Schippers won the Beijing 2015 and London 2017 World 200m titles. She also won silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in the 200m.

Dafne Schippers is the European record in the 200m with a time of 21.63 and is the 5th-fastest woman of all time at this distance.

“I’m also really looking forward to being back at the start in Hengelo. I have so many great memories of the FBK Games, and it’s just nice to run in front of a home crowd again.”
