Rising sprint star Briana Williams and veteran Nesta Carter are the professionals confirmed for Saturday’s (25 Jan) Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet.

The meet, set to start at 8:80am at the National Stadium in Kingston, will see Williams and Carter, both contesting the specially arranged 60M event.

Several other elite athletes from UTech, Sprint Tech, GC Foster College and Racers Track Club will also take part in the 19th staging of the event.
Kingston College, Calabar, Jamaica College, St. Jago, The Queen’s School and Wolmers are the top high school teams.

The order of events includes but is not limited to 200m, 400m, 4x400m, long jump and high jump. Tickets will cost patrons $700 per adult and $400 per student (with ID) or child (under 12 years old) upon entry. Accommodation will be at the Grand Stand only.

The meet remains a qualifying meet for the Boy’s and Girls’ Championships, and elite and collegiate athletes will use this meet as their season opener for 2020.

The organisers, in a release, expressed appreciation for “the support of Corporate Jamaica and wish to commend and thank all the sponsors for their unwavering commitment to the development of sporting activities through sponsorship.”

“The general public is encouraged to come out and enjoy the undisputed talent and performance to be showcased and support sports development in Jamaica,” the release added.
