KINGSTON, Jamaica – Usain Bolt is set to skip next year’s Jamaica Trials, saying his final race on home soil will be the Racers Grand Prix.
Bolt, who maintains that the London 2017 World Championships, will be his last international appearance, made the disclosure on Television Jamaica’s early morning show, Smile Jamaica on Friday, October 14.
“The Racers Grand Prix will be my last race in Jamaica people, it will be the last time I run in Jamaica,” Bolt said on the programme.
The 2017 Racers Grand Prix is likely to be held in the second week of June.
Bolt will be chasing his fourth sprint double title at London 2017, set for August 4-13 in the Olympic Stadium.
“Yes I am definitely going to retire after the World Championships in London, that will be my last one,” said Bolt.
He has won 11 World Championships gold medals, among them seven individual medals.
