LONDON – Athletics Weekly has announced the winners of their 2015 AW Readers’ Choice Awards.
World 100m and 200m champion Usain Bolt was voted their reader’s top international male athlete while world heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill finished on top in the women’s poll.
Bolt earned 31.1% of the votes to beat double world champion Mo Farah (20.4%) and IAAF World Athlete of the Year Ashton Eaton (16.8%).
Ennis-Hill was chosen by 38.9% of voters and had a similar winning margin to Bolt, with runner-up Dafne Schippers collecting 27.1% of the votes.
IAAF World Athlete of the Year Genzebe Dibaba was third in the poll with 15.7%.
