OSTRAVA, Czech Republic- The organisers of 56th Ostrava Golden Spike Meeting (IAAF World Challenge), set for June 28, confirmed at Tuesday’s (20 June) press conference that 10 Rio Olympic gold medalists from individual events will compete.

Usain Bolt will make his 9th appearance in Ostrava and is down for the men’s 100m during his farewell tour.

Mo Farah is listed for his last one day meeting 10,000m race while Wayde Van Niekerk, the Olympic Games, World champion and world record holder for the 400m, will try to lower Bolt’s 2010 30.97 record in the men’s 300m.

Also David Rudisha will debut in the 1000m, Conseslus Kipruto will try for fast time in the steeple. Christian Taylor is returning in triple jump to the place of his first major medals at World U18 Championships in Ostrava 2007.

Another Rio winner is also current World champion in high jump Derek Drouin. Another gold medalist is Thomas Rohler in javelin who will be part of special concept a duel between Germany and Czech Republic with 4 throwers on each side with captains Klaus Wolfermann and Jan Zelezny.

Two remaining 2016 Olympic winners are the ones from hammer throw (to be held on June 27) Dilshod Nazarov (but favorite will be Pawel Fajdek) and Anita Wlodarczyk.

The meet is already sold out and the organisers are preparing a special farewell ceremony for Usain Bolt.
