BEIJING, China – Jamaica’s Usain Bolt struggled to win his semifinals heat here at the XV IAAF World Championships here at the Bird Nest’s stadium.

Bolt stumbled but managed to stead himself and recovered to past his rivals in the final five metres to win in 9.96 seconds.

“Felt good at the start, but don’t know what happened after (with the stumble),” explained Bolt after his run.

Going into the final, Bolt “I’m not worried going into the final.”

 Andre De Grasse of Canada was second in an identical time, with American Trayvon Bromell third in 9.99.
