BEIJING, China – Bigga soft drink may not be available on shelves here in Beijing, but Javon "Donkey Man" Francis made sure to bring his own stock to keep him refreshed as he chases GOLD.
After his brilliant 44.83 clocking in the first round of the 400m to qualify for the semi-finals, Francis, who was just thirsty for a Bigga soft drink, spoke of its importance.
“I have Bigga soft drink here with me in Beijing, but I still need more to perform to the best of my ability,” he said.
His stock is running low as fast as he covered the one lap event, mainly because he shares with teammates.
“I would want to share more of my Bigga soft drinks with my teammates, but I don’t have enough,” he smiled during his mixed zone interview with Trackalerts.com in this Bigga Soda feature.
Francis also praised Bigga by saying, “I just want to give Bigga thumbs up to sponsor me and I will try to make the product be the best."
“Big up my friend Ketiesha,” said Francis as he wrapped up his post race interview.
On his first round performance here, Francis said, “I feel good. I just came out and did my best and qualified for the next round.”
At the Moscow World Championships, Francis exited at the semi-final stage, but “this year I am forced to make the final.”
Rusheen McDonald, just before Francis’ heat, ran 43.93 for the Jamaican record.
Francis was impressed: “Rusheen's performance was outstanding, and I give him the thumbs up for breaking the national record.”
Peter Matthews also ran a personal best, 44.69, and will be the third Jamaican in the semi-finals.
Francis, the Bigga Ambassador is happy with these performances, adding “we have a good 4×4 team, and I hope everyone stays injury free so we can give USA a run in the final.”
