Trinidad and Tobago’s 4×100 metre relay team selectee, Kelly-Ann Baptiste, has withdrawn from this weekend’s IAAF World Relays in Nassua, Bahamas.
Baptiste, after a recent 10.98-winning run at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Florida, was named as part of the overall 23-athlete team.
However, a press release issued on Tuesday night from National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA), stated, “her withdrawal came as an urgent personal matters.”
Baptiste is still to be expected to feature at next month’s National Open Championships, an event, according to the press release, is mandatory for athletes to be considered for the IAAF World Championships, in August.
