Bailey-Cole finishes 2nd in 100m at Spain meet

Kemar Bailey-Cole finished second in the men’s 100m at Thursday’s (July 5) international meet Guadalajara, Spain.

Bailey-Cole crossed the finish line in 10.12, a season-best effort, behind winner Derick Silva, 10.10secs. Former Jamaican athlete Emre Barnes, now representing Turkey, clocked 10.18secs for third.

Brazilian sprinter Vitoria Cristina Rosa ran away with the women’s 100m in 11.03, beating Angela Tenorio, 11.13secs.

Oscar Husillos won the 200m in 20.74 and Kuwaiti Yousef Karam the 400m in 45.63 ahead of Italian Davide Re 45.66.

Women 400m win for Libania Grenot 51.84.

The world leader in long jump Juan Miguel Echevarria leapt 8.37m to top the event.

In the hurdles Gabriel Constantino of Brazil, 13.36secs won the men’s 110m event while Dutch Eefje Boons ran 12.86secs to beat Genesis Romero of Venezuela, 13.03 in the women’s 100m hurdles.

Abdelmalik Lahoulou from Algeria won the 400m hurdles in 49.54.
