Former world 100m record holder Asafa Powell has pulled out of this weekend’s World Relays #Bahamas2017.

Maurice Wilson, in an interview with RJR, confirmed the withdrawal among other developments.

“I’ve been informed that Asafa Powell is not available; Julian Forte is also not available; Rusheen McDonald is also out,” said Wilson.

According to Wilson, Powell, Forte and McDonald, the national 400m record holder, are experienced athletes “that would make a big difference to the composition of the team.”

Wilson also said double Rio Olympic Games sprint gold medallist, Elaine Thompson and Shericka Jackson, who won bronze in the 400m, are only available for the 4x200m relays.
