Bloomfield runs world-leading 400m time in Florida

Akeem Bloomfield won the men’s 400m at Friday’s (24 July) Back to the Track meeting in Clermont, Florida.

Bloomfield, a finalist at last year’s Doha 2019 World Championships, stopped the clock in 45.07 seconds.

The time is the fastest in the world this year, beating the previous best of 45.31 by Davide Re of Italy.

Josephus Lyles, brother of Noah Lyles, finished second in 45.40

Matt Hudson-Smith did not finish while Trinidad and Tobago’s Machel Cedenio did not start.
