Traves Smikle Comes Good in Germany

At the Pfingstsportfest Meet (WACT Bronze) on June 5, Traves Smikle won the discus with 63.97 meters from Marek Barta (61.13) with Christoph Harting sixth.

Christin Hussong won the javelin with 62.28 meters ahead of Annika Fuchs (58.54).

Shanice Craft won the women’s event with 60.33 as Silinda Morales was second with 60.20 meters.

Swiss record-holder Chiara Scherrer won the steeplechase with a 9:28.68 personal best.

Tobias Potye beat Andrii Protsenko in the high jump, 2.24 to 2.21 meters. James Preston won the 800 meters with 1:47.79 and Julia Ritter took the shot put by throwing 18.08 meters.

Matt Ludwig had a perfect record up to and including 5.70 meters to win the pole vault, with Oleg Zernikel and Bo Kanda Lita Baehre also clearing that height. Scott Lincoln threw 20.19 meters to win the shot.

Briton Adam Thomas won the 100 meters in 10.45 (-1.3w); in the 1500 meters Christoph Kessler clocked 3:38.15 over 800-meter specialist Tshepo Tshite (3:38.92).

In the high jump, Uzbekistan’s Safina Sadullayeva cleared 1.88 meters for the win.
