Speed Capital’s Spotlight Athletes Shine at LSU Invitational

• ALIYAH JOHNSON (SCFL2020 & SCTX2020): Aliyah Johnson competes for Speed Legion Track Club and is a long stand Speed Capital Spotlight Athlete. At the Louisiana Indoor Classic Aliyah took to the podium on four occasions; she collected 1st place finishes in the 60M and Triple Jump and 2nd place finishes in the 200M and Long Jump.

As the countdown to the inaugural Speed Capital Invitational in Winter Park, FL quickly approaches, Standout athletes, participating in the event, appropriately titled “Spotlight Athletes”, continued their dominating ways on the track.

The Series is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated youth track & field events of 2020.
The locations are Florida (5/9/2020), Houston (5/31/2020), and Indianapolis (7/13/2020). The Series will see US’s top track & field talents in attendance.

The latest showcase of Spotlight Athletes took place this weekend throughout the United States. Athletes showcased their talent at several events including the Louisiana Youth Indoor Classic, The Central Florida Season Opener, and the Track Lab Speed Series.

• ALIYAH JOHNSON (SCFL2020 & SCTX2020): Aliyah Johnson competes for Speed Legion Track Club and is a long stand Speed Capital Spotlight Athlete. At the Louisiana Indoor Classic, Aliyah took to the podium on four occasions; she collected 1st place finishes in the 60M and Triple Jump, and 2nd place finishes in the 200M and Long Jump.
• KING LEWIS (SCTX2020): King Lewis is celebrating his 6th birthday in stunning fashion; he dominated the 6U division. By the conclusion of all competitions, King paid a visit to the podium on three occasions on his way to amassing a total of three gold medals in the 60M, 200M, and Long Jump respectively.
• MYKEL HOLMES (SCFL2020, SCTX2020, & SCMIDWEST2020): Mykel Holmes, or “Young Herc” as he is more popularly known, had an impressive outing in Louisiana; his 60M time of 8.96 was faster than the reigning indoor national championship time from 2019. We are expecting great things from him this year!
• DONOVAN TERRY (SCFL2020, SCTX2020, & SCMIDWEST2020): Donovan “Dash” Terry stepped on the track for the 800M race with one thing in mind…MEET RECORD! As he crossed the finish line and walked towards the exit, the announcement came over the loudspeakers “Congratulations to Donovan Terry on setting a New Meet Record of 2:12:48”.
• ELIJAH PRICE (SCFL2020, SCTX2020, & SCMIDWEST2020): Known to most as the “Slim Reaper” Elijah Price has a history of breaking records and that history continued at the Louisiana Indoor Classic. Elijah not only took the Gold medal in the 1600M, not only set a new meet record, but he did it by besting the previous record by 4 seconds!

The Central Florida Season Opener (Orlando, FL): Host by Powerhouse Athletics

• THE PASCHAL 3 (SCFL2020): Maison, Mikayla, and Myles Paschal opened their 2020 campaign in Orlando, FL at the Central Florida Season Opener. Maison took the hat trick claiming Gold in the 55M, 100M, & Long Jump. Mikayla followed that up with 1st place finishes in the 100M hurdles and Shot Put. Myles rounded off the trio’s success by taking Bronze in the Long Jump.
• DARIOUS GARDNER (SCFL2020): Darious competes for the Deland Lightning Boltz, and he is back to his winning ways; he competed in three events and concluded with 1st place finishes in the 100M, Long Jump, and 2nd place finishes in the 400M.
• ANAIAH BERRY (SCFL2020): Anaiah Berry of NuSpeed Track Club concluded her day with a 1st place finish in her signature race, the 800M. She ran a 2:46 in the season opener; the sky is the limit by the end of the season!
• JASMISYN BUSH (SCFL2020): Jasmisyn Bush from the Blazin Ravenz Track Club amassed three medals on the day; she took Gold in the 400M, Silver in the 200M, and Bronze in the 100M.
• ZA’MIYAH BROWN (SCFL2020): Za’Miyah Brown of Blazing Speed competed in three events and concluded with three top finishes; she earned Gold Medals in the 1500M & 800M and a Silver medal in Long Jump.
• ADRIANA ALEXANDER (SCFL2020): Adriana competes for the West Georgia Jets Track Club coached This weekend she participated in 5 events; she collected 1st place finishes in the 40M, 50M, 150M, 300M, and 4 x 100M Relay.
• SINCERE MCGINTY (SCFL2020): Sincere runs for the West Georgia Jets Track Club coached by Marcus McGinty. At the TrackLab Speed Series, she had a stand out performance that concluded with a Gold medal in the Long Jump.
