Semenya eyes Tokyo 2020 appearance

Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya insists she intends to compete at the Olympics but not in her specialist event.

The South African is unable to compete in the 800m or 1500m owing to World Athletics’ rules on differences of sexual development.

“I’m going to surprise you … and you’re going to like the surprise,” she said in an interview with Netwerk24.

“My biggest goal remains to be at the Olympics, and I will work hard to achieve that. No ruling is going to get in the way of that.”
