Javon Francis goes in search of Doha 2019 World Championships qualifying mark this weekend.
Francis will compete at the Blue Marlin Track and Field Classic in Nassau, The Bahamas on Saturday (31 Aug).
At the meet dubbed “Last Chance” to qualify for the 17th IAAF World Championships, Francis will face a reasonably strong field in his pursuit 45.30s.
Francis will face Bralon Taplin of Grenada and Michael Mathieu, who was a member of Bahamas’ victorious 4x400m team in London 2012.
Francis, who has only three meets this season, ran 45.60 for third at Jamaica Trials.
Jamaica champion Demish Gaye, 44.83, Akeem Bloomfield, the fastest Jamaican this year with 44.40 and Rusheen McDonald, 45.25 are the only two qualifiers.
