Collins runs faster 6.52

MONDEVILLE, France – Kim Collins, at the age of 40, set a 60m superb 40+ world best ever at the Meeting de Mondeville here on Saturday (4 Feb).

Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis ran 6.52 to finish ahead of Ronnie Baker 6.54 (also 6.54 in heat), Sean Safo-Antwi 6.59 with home favourite Christophe Lemaitre sixth in 6.66. Lemaitre did 6.62 in the heats.

Ukraine’s Olesya Povh won the women’s 60m in 7.20 after a 7.26 run earlier in the heats while teammate Hanna Platitsyna won the 60m hurdles in 8.08.

Ukrainian Olha Zemlyak was fastest out of the two 400m races in 52.87 to Eilidh Doyle’s 53.36.

Great Britain’s Dave King won the 60m hurdles in a 7.65 PB after running 7.73 in the heats.

Elsewhere, 3000m wins for Morocco’s Brahim Kaazouzi (7:53.53) and Ethiopia’s Fantu Worku (8:53.48) while Algeria’s Abderrahmane Anou topped the 1500m (3:42.27).

Field event highlight was Belarus’ Iryna Vaskovskaya 13.61m in the triple jump.
