LONDON – Organisers have announced that 1,047,000 tickets have been applied for in regards to next year’s World Championships in London.
In total, 486,000 of the 700,000 tickets have already been sold in the first ballot. Unsuccessful ballot applicants will get a second chance to purchase remaining tickets in mid-September.
“We are thrilled with the demand for tickets so far and next year is really setting up to be a fantastic summer of athletics where we welcome the world’s best athletes back to London. Four years on from the London 2012 Games, it’s great to see that there is still such enthusiasm for global sporting events,” said event director Niels de Vos.
