Vincentian athletes shine in Grenada

Vincentian athletes, competing at the Grenada National Championships over the weekend, copped 11 Gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals, competing for various clubs.

Linda McDowall of the IT DAT ACADEMY won gold in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m and was adjudged the top female senior performer. Roberto Boyd, competing for EXCEED Track Club won both the 100m and 200m sprints for senior men with times of 10.61 and 21.65 respectively.

Javon Rawlins of the EXCELL track Club had a good victory in the Triple Jump for Under 18 Boys with a leap of 13.40m. There were also good gold medal performances from Terique John (200m U18), Kasique Oliver (800m Men), Akani Slater (400m Men) Soreyna Miller (400mWomen) Deslorn Lawrence (200m women), Tamara Woodley (U18 Girls 800m….2:23.72) all of the IT DAT ACADEMY.
IT DAT also won the 4x400m Open

Silver medal performances came from IT DAT athletes Yornick Murray (U18 Boys 400m….50.21), Kimorie Shearman (Open men 100m…10.74), Deslorn Lawrence (100m women..12.60), Tamara Woodley (U18 Girls 400m…59.96), Soreyna Miller (200m Women).

There were bronze medal performances from EXCELL’S Kieron Arthur (400m Men) and Kayon Johnson (800m U18 Boys) and IT DAT’S Lafeisha France(400m U18 Girls)
