CLERMONT, USA – Panamanian sprinter Alonso Edward plans to open up his 2016 season in April, according to the IAAF website.
The 26-year-old, who narrowly missed a medal in the world 200m final this year, said that he will run more 100m races next year to improve the start of his 200m.
He also said that he will start his season with some races over 400m.
“I know I need to run under 9.90 if I want to get to the next level, around 19.50-19.60s,” said Edward.
No South American has ever run a legal sub 10 for the 100m.
