BEIJING, China – Trinidad and Tobago took the silver medal in the men’s 4×400 metres here at the World Championships on Sunday.
After Jamaica had shot into the lead by a blistering 300 metres by Javon Francis on anchor, Trinidad and Tobago’s Machel Cedeno bided his time and along with LaShawn Merritt of the United States went by Francis in the final 100 metres.
Renny Quow led off with 43.23 (according to the stadium information system) for T&T to Lalonde Gordon 45.68 to Deon Lendore, who ran 44.74 to give Cedenio on anchor.
The USA won in 2:57.82 seconds with Trinidad doing 2:58.20 and Great Britain 2:58.51 the same as Jamaica.
