“All is safe, I'm just going thru a ruff time in my life and I need a little space and time,” Edino Steele said hours after it was reported he is yet to join Jamaica’s team Pre-World Championships camp in Tottori, Japan.

On Thursday, Dennis Gordon, Jamaica’s team media officer said neither the management team nor Steele’s Racers Track Club coach Glen Mills could locate the quarter-miler.

Steele was selected as part of Jamaica’s 4x400m relay pool for the XV IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China from August 22-30.

Steele posted on Facebook that he is “good just going thru a ruff time in my life and I need a little space and time for my thoughts to gather.”

“I can't go out there and give 199% on the track as I always do for "team Jamaica" times like these,” he added.

Steele, who finished 5th at the Jamaican Trials in June, said right now "wanna be around my family to help me through this ruff time.”
“I appreciate who is looking out for me but right now I just need time and space everyone,” he added.

He ended by saying “thank you and God bless ….

“Edino Man of Steele,” ended his statement on the social media site.

Steele was replaced in the Jamaica squad by Ricardo Chambers.
