BEIJING, China – Jamaica advanced to the final of the women’s 4×400 metres while Bahamas crashed out after the heats at the World Championships here on Saturday.
Jamaica finished second in their heat to Nigeria with Bahamas ended a disappointed sixth in theirs.
Jamaica ran 3:23.62 seconds to gain automatic qualification to the final with Nigeria winning with 3:23.27 and Russia finishing third with 3:23.75. Canada qualified from the heat on time as they did 3:26.14.
In the second heat Bahamas finished sixth in 3:28.46 seconds as the United States won in 3:23.05 with Great Britain finishing second in 3:23.90 and France third in 3:24.86 as the latter three secured the automatic qualification with Ukraine getting through on time with 3:26.01.
