BEIJING, China – Bahamas Jeffrey Gibson was in fine form in his semi final round of the men’s 400m hurdles here in the Bird Nest’s Stadium.
Running out of lane 8, Gibson the Pan Am Champion, qualifies for the final of the men’s 400H after finishing 2nd in 48.37
Against a strong field, which included American Johnny Dutch, Gibson got out hard and maintained his position from the start. With a strong last hurdle clearance Gibson powered home to a New Bahamas National Record of 48.37.
Jamaica’s charges Leford Green and Annsert Whyte finished 6th and 7th in their semi final and did not advance to the finals.
National Champion White did, however, establish a season best 48.90.
