PRESS RELEASE – The Management and Team Members of the Rockets Athletics Club, would like to congratulate Kamillah Monroque on her recent accomplishment in the 3000m at the just concluded CARIFTA Games held in St Kitts and Nevis.
Although she did not make it to the medal podium, Kamillah achieved her personal best in the event in a time of 11.07.62, 12 seconds less than the time ran at the 2014 CARIFTA Games in Martinque.
This year she again competed with 2 of the athletes from last year’s games namely Shanieka Watson of Jamaica and Shakeeba Pink of St Maarteen.
15 year old Kamillah Monroque is a young developing long distance athlete who continues to progress in her events despite the lack of competition here in Saint Lucia.
Her coaches are committed to her development in track, and will continue to provide the nurturing and coaching necessary to assist in her physical, psychological and emotional development.
Team Rockets will continue to support Kamillah as she perseveres in her quest for excellence in the sport.
