Dwight Thomas is fit again and looking forward to take his place on Jamaica’s team for this summer’s World Championships in Beijing, China.

Thomas, who was injured in Moscow, which knocked him out of the World Championships in 2013, said things are now looking good.

“I had a great background training with no setbacks. It (recovery) went very well.” He explained what exactly happened: “I had a knee injury in Moscow at the World Champs (a) couple days before the 1st round of my event. It lead to me having a knee scope that created a setback for 2014.”

He missed the 2012 London Olympic Games and 2013 World Championships because of injury, but said “Now I'm fit and running my fastest time ever in April at Florida Relays.” Thomas finished 4th in 13.42 at that meet.

“I'm happy to just be running and competing again thanks to God.”

He also said “Well I opened up the fastest I (have) done in my career this early so looking forward to having a great season God willing.”

Ending his talk with Trackalerts.com, he said, “my goal is to stay healthy and enjoy competing again, ” adding “making the team to Beijing and represent my country is something anyone should be proud of. So that's definitely one of my goals.”
