Woman died during road race in Jamaica

A female runner, Alicia Prince, died Sunday morning during the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run in Kingston.

Sagicor confirmed the death of the 36-year-old woman, who was an employee at the National Commercial Bank.

"Our deepest sympathies are with Ms Prince's family," said Richard Byles, President and CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica.

 “She received immediate medical treatment from a medical team including a medical doctor, two Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and a nurse in one of several medical vehicles deployed along the route and was taken to Andrews Memorial Hospital where she received additional treatment,” stated the release.

Meanwhile, over $26,048,095 million was presented to Cornwall Regional’s Neo Natal Unit and Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation today at the awards ceremony for the 17th staging of Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run at Emancipation Park in Kingston.
