Collins sprints to unbelievable 6.48 Record

MOSCOW, Russia (Feb 1) – Former World 100m champion Kim Collins was in top form here at the 24th edition of Russian Winter (IAAF Permit) meeting on Sunday.

Inside the Moscow CSKA Arena, the ever-young Collins clocked 6.48secs for the fastest indoor time in the world this year. The mark is also a national record (and World best for 35+ category) to win men 60m final ahead American Mike Rodgers 6.56 and Cuban Yunier Pérez 6.61 (both with season bests).

Meanwhile, in men’s 1500m, Kenyan battle on the last lap identified the winner. Vincent Kibet sprinted past Bethwel Birgen to clock WL and PB 3:37.79. Birgen lost only by 0.02. Daegu world medallist Silas Kiplagat finished third with 3:38.28 followed by Collins Cheboi 3:38.44 and Russian Valentin Smirnov 3:38.74.
