The International Meeting Region de Guadeloupe will be offering increased prize money for its 2015 edition set for Saturday, May 2.
According to the organizers, the prize money will range from a high of US$5,000 to a low of US$500 for premium events and US$2,500 to US$400 for classic events.
In a correspondence sent to athletes’ representatives, the meet organizers thank the athletes for supporting the meet over the years.
“This will be our 11th year in Guadeloupe and we have some exciting news for you and your athletes, the correspondence from the organizers stated.
The organizers added that they have decided to increase prize money in “an efforts to make our meeting more professional and more exciting for the fans.”

However, while the premium events have not yet decided, the following 14 events are planned for 2015:
Men: 100m, 400m, 110m hurdles, 3k Steeple, 400m hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump
Women: 100m, 400m, 800m, Long Jump, 100m hurdles, Shot Put, 400m hurdles
