LOS ANGELES – Universal Sports Network announced today (September 18, 2014) a multi-year distribution agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) for the network’s exclusive Olympic, endurance and action sports programming available to the cable co-op’s nearly 900 member companies across the United States.

Effective today, the new deal gives NCTC member companies, which serve millions of cable subscribers, rights to the network’s 1,200 hours of live and exclusive programming in HD, access to VOD content and comprehensive TV Everywhere rights through subscriber authentication on multiple devices.

“We are excited to partner with NCTC on the distribution of our exclusive global sports programming as we continue to grow the reach of our network,” said Scott Brown, President of Universal Sports. “With a wide variety of sports and world-class events not available on other networks, Universal Sports fills a void and will provide NCTC members with additional value for their subscribers as operators continue to expand their sports offerings.”

“NCTC looks forward to a successful new partnership with Universal Sports Network. We are happy to offer our members the opportunity to showcase a unique variety of sports programming, including coverage of Olympic sports and athletes, and other exclusive events,” said Judy Meyka, Executive Vice President of Programming, NCTC.

NCTC member companies can now join Universal Sports Network’s growing list of distributors including Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber, WAVE Broadband, GCI, satellite providers DIRECTV and DISH and numerous regional cable and IPTV operators in markets across the country.

Showcasing many of the world’s best athletes competing in more than 40 sports and 25 world championships this year, Universal Sports Network provides viewers unparalleled access to a wide range of global sporting events including the most year-round, Olympic-related programming of any network. Among the exclusive events broadcast on the network’s TV and digital platforms are such prestigious competitions as the Boston Marathon, World Track & Field Championships, World Aquatics Championships, Alpine Ski World Cup, World Figure Skating Championships, Vuelta a España and next year’s highly anticipated IRB Rugby World Cup.
