After a National lead in Mt. SAC last weekend, US 400m hurdler Jeshua Anderson is looking to build on his solid start to the season at Drake Relays.

With a good off-season preparing at the World Athletics Center in Arizona under his belt, Jeshua could be pleased with his work in his season opener.

“It went well at Mt. SAC last weekend as my first race of the season,” reflected Anderson, who won the race in a USA lead time of 49.43. “It was a strong field but I was able to shake off the rust and execute my race.”
Anderson returns to Drake Stadium where he enjoyed two NCAA Championship title successes; in 2008 where he ran 48.69 (pictured above) and 2011 running 48.56.

“I’ve ran at Drake Stadium for a few years now, including a couple of NCAA Championships and USA Championships.”

With that history, it’s no wonder that Jeshua is looking forward to getting out there on the track once again.
“It’s a great field out here and I look forward to running. I aim to take my work in practice, which has been great, into the track races like this one.”

“I feel like I’m in good shape and I am aiming to concentrate on my own race and give it all I have.”
“I want to gradually keep making progress every time I step on the track.”
