NEW YORK, NY, September 27, 2022 – The Armory Foundation opens its 2022-23 indoor track & field season with its Armory Trials, scheduled for Sunday, October 16.
In its third year, the Armory Trials provides the perfect opportunity for local and regional high school student-athletes to secure Fully Automatic Timing (FAT) verified times and marks as they look to bolster their respective college recruiting profiles. Seniors may find this event to be especially important as it takes place before the deadline for early application for college admissions.
“Since last spring track & field season, many high school athletes have gotten faster and stronger, and this early season Armory event has given so many athletes the opportunity to post new PRs and raise their standings on college coaches’ recruiting lists,” said Armory Foundation Co-President Jonathan Schindel.
On the track, Armory Trials events offered include the 55m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 55m hurdles. In field events, athletes will contest in the long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, weight throw, and pole vault.
The Armory Trials are open to any high school or club student-athlete or unattached athlete ages 14-18, regardless of affiliation. All marks on The Armory’s lightning-fast track will be verified by the facility’s state-of-the-art FAT system used for all meets, including the historic Millrose Games.
