Five Jamaicans will be in action at Saturday’s (14 May) Felix Sanchez Invitational in the Dominican Republic.

Javon Francis, Olympic Games and World Championships 4×400-meter silver medallist, will contest the men’s 400 meters. Bahamian Alonzo Russell, Rio 2016 Olympics 4×400-meter bronze medal winner, will also be at the start line.

Hometown hero Luguelin Santos, the London 2012 Olympic Games 400-meter bronze medal winner is also in the field.

Roneisha McGregor will run the women’s 200/400-meter double. She will face Canadian Khamica Bingham and Mexican Paola Moran in the 200m, as the rest of the field are home talents.

In the 400 meters, McGregor will face off again with Moran and several local stars. Jahnoy Thompson goes up against Americans Kyree King and Trevor Stewart in the men’s 200 meters.

Men’s 400m hurdles pull the biggest outside participants at Felix Sanchez Invitational.

Jamaicans Andre Clarke, Kemar Mowatt, and Bahamian Shakeem Hall Smith are in the 400-meter hurdles, the only event with athletes from five countries.

Yanique Haye-Smith of the Turks and Caicos, as well as Americans Kaila Barber and Cassandra Tate are also in the women’s 400-meter hurdles.

In the men’s equivalent, Americans Amere Lattin, Khallifah Rosser and Quincy Downing will also face the starter.

The women’s triple jump will pit Sandisha Antoine from St. Lucia, Bahamian Tamara Myers, and American Michele Fokam against each other.

Kaiwan Culmer of the Bahamas and American Donald Scott are in the Felix Sanchez Invitational men’s triple jump.
