In the 4x400m, the Czech Republic won the men’s race in a European leading 3:02.42 ahead of Netherlands 3:02.49. Belarus won the women’s 4x400m in 3:28.14 from Switzerland (3:28.77) and Czech Republic (3:30.51).

Switzerland’s Salome Lang set a national record and Olympic qualifying mark of 1.96m in the high jump. Romania’s Daniela Stanciu, with 1.92m, finished second. Turkey’s Emel Dereli won the women’s shot put with 18.50m.
