Kemar Bailey-Cole has pulled out of the XV IAAF World Championships, set for Beijing, China August 22-30.
“It is with bitter emotions that I am announcing that my season has come to an end,” Bailey-Cole said.
Bailey-Cole, who is in Tottori, Japan with the Jamaican team, suffered a hamstring injury at the London Anniversary Games last month.
“I will not be competing at the world championships. This is so as an ongoing cramp to both hamstrings (suffered) at the London Anniversary Games now led to one of them been torn yesterday in practice.
“Thank you all for your thoughtfulness,” he added.
Nesta Carter, who was fourth at the Trials, will take Bailey-Cole space in the men's 100m.
Dennis Gordon, Jamaica's team media officer, said Rasheed Dwyer will be included in the relay pool.
