Christopher Taylor cruised to victory in the Class 1 boys’ 400m at the Digicel Grand Prix Final at GC Foster College on Saturday (16 March).

Calabar’s Taylor was the only quarter-miler to go sub-47secs. He won in 45.99 ahead of Holmwood’s Bovel McPherson, 47.13.

Holmwood and Hydel shared the honours in the 400m finals.

Daniella Deer took the U20 final in 53.67 ahead of Garriel White of Hydel, 54.14.
In the U17 section, Oneika McAnnuff of Hydel won the U17 girls’ 400m in 53.12 ahead of Rickiann Russell of Holmwood, 53.46.

Petersfield’s Shaquena Foote ran away with the U20 girls’ 800m final in 2:07.44. Cherokee Young of Hydel was second in 2:08.38.
Kishay Rowe of Spalding took the U17 final in 2:12.54 while

Tyrice Taylor of Enid Bennett was the winner of the U20 boys’ 1:48.85. He beat Tyrese Reid of Spot Valley, 1:49.30.

J’Voughn Blake of JC 1:52.0 took the U17 final.

In the girls’ 400m hurdles open, Danielle Brissett of Holmwood was the only one under one minute with 58.69 seconds.

Kingston College (KC) dominated the boys 400m hurdles. Romel Plummer, 51.62 and Shanthamoi Brown, 52.30 gave KC 1-2 in the Class One event while Jayden Brown topped the boys’ Class Two event in 53.61.
