The NACAC U23 Championship scheduled for 2016 will be held in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
According to a report from the NACAC council meeting, held in Puerto Rico recently, it was ratified that the NACAC U23 Championships in 2016 will be held in the city of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

The decision was also made that NACAC Senior Championships should be held in even years starting in 2018 at the same time of the European Championships. In this way top athletes from this area will have a chance to participate in their Area Championship and also qualify for the IAAF Continental Cup.

The council also discussed the possibility to offer prize money in the senior NACAC Championships. There is still great enthusiasm with the NACAC seniors which is scheduled for August 7-9 in San Jose, Costa Rica and it is expected that all members of the NACAC Federations will participate.
