Jamaican Janeek Brown continued her impressive form this season with a personal best in the women’s 100m hurdles at the NCAA Division I Championships.
Brown, representing the University of Arkansas, blazed to 12.53s at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, TX on Thursday night (6 June). She beat her previous best of 12.55, done last month in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
So far this season, all Brown’s times 12.98, 12.97. 12.91, 12.57, 12.84, 12.55, 12.89 and 12.71, were below 13 seconds.
Tonea Marshall of LSU, 12.67, and Anna Cockrell of USC, 12.69, both with personal best, are the second and third fastest.
Jamaican Jeanine Williams, representing Georgia Tech, also qualified for the final with 12.88.
Former Jamaica junior record holder Kiara Grant, 11.16s, booked her place in the women’s 100m final. Sha’Carri Richardson of LSU is the fastest qualifier with 10.99 while Kayla White of North Carolina A&T is next best with 11.01
