Olympic Games silver medalist Shericka Williams is among three Jamaican athletes set to represent Bahrain.

According to information reaching TrackAlerts.Com, Andrew Fisher and Kemarley Brown, are also on their way to represent the Middle East country.

Garth Gayle, general secretary of the JAAA, confirmed the athletes made a request for the switch.

Williams is one of Jamaica’s most successful 400m runners, having won silver in the one lap event at the 2009 World Championships to add to her Beijing 2008 Olympic Games silver medal. She has seven relay medals in the 4x400m for Jamaica between 2005 and 2012.

Fisher, the 14th Jamaican to break the 10 seconds barrier, ran a personal best of 9.94 in Madrid on July 11.

Brown, another sub-10 man at 9.93, recently returned to Jamaica from college in the USA.

Brandon Simpson, a former Jamaica quarter miler, switched to Bahrain in 2005.

Earlier this year, Jacques Harvey switched to Turkey, a country he now represents on the circuit with the name Jak Ali Harvey.
