Trinidad and Tobago athletes Machel Cedenio, Ruebin Walters and Kyle Greaux were winners at Sunday’s (30 May) Pure Athletics Summer Invitational held at NTC Training Center in Clermont, Florida.

In the men’s 200m, Greaux recorded the day’s fastest time of 20.70. Ashmeade was second best with 20.71 and heat one winner Jaylen Bacon, third overall with 20.72.

Candace Hill topped the women’s 200m in 22.99 ahead of fellow American Candyce McGrone, 23.67.

Jamaican Jonielle Smith finished sixth overall in 24.29.

Cedenio ran 45.37 to beat World Championships and Olympic Games gold medallist LaShawn Merritt, 45.45.

Alonzo Russell, a member of the Bahamas’ successful London 2021 4x400m winning team, finished third in 46.23.

Trinidad and Tobago secured another win through Ruebin Walters, who ran 13.53 in the men’s 110m hurdles.
Jonathon Santiago Pagan of Puerto Rico took second in 14.16.

The women’s 100m went to Kortnei Johnson in 11.17 ahead of Tianna Bartoletta, 11.18.

Kelly-Ann Baptiste ran 11.51 for sixth.

In heat 2 of the final, Khalifa St. Fort ran 11.58 while fellow Trinibagonians Semoy Hackett, 11.68 and Reyare Thomas, 11.69 were third and fourth.

Noah Lyles was beaten in the men’s 100m

Sean Kalawan won the men’s 400m hurdles in 52.20.
