American World 100m champion Christian Coleman has revealed he missed a drugs test in December 2019.
“A few days ago, the AIU came to a decision that I’ve been appealing for 6 months that I missed a test on December 9th, 2019. And now this might result in me being suspended from other filing failures that occurred well over a year ago at this point.”
Coleman, who beat Justin Gatlin for the world 100m title in Doha 2019, is facing a two-year ban if found guilty.
The 24-year-old sprinter scaped suspension on a technicality ahead of last year’s Doha 2019 World Championships because of a similar case.
Coleman said December’s missed test could have been avoided if the person visiting had called him as he was close by at a store.
He had missed tests on January 16th, 2019 and April 26th, 2019.
Coleman said he took responsibility for January’s missed test, but said, “I think the attempt on December 16th 2019 was a purposeful attempt to get me to miss a test.”

They are NOT supposed to call and give you notice. Isn’t it random visits? People can do unscrupulous things when given notice. That is why audits are never announced. You catch them before evidence can be destroyed.
