A video, released by Nike, titled ‘The birthplace of dreams’ of Caster Semenya is out. The video takes viewers Semenya’s beginnings in Limpopo to a professional athlete.
Semenya is the Olympic Games 800m champion.
She grew up playing football before taking on track and field’s two-lap event.
Semenya said “most people came to see her play” because as a girl she “played the game fast.”
She won her first world 800m title at the Berlin 2009 World Championships. She later won the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and London 2017 World titles.
She was awarded gold medals after doping disqualification of Mariya Savinova at the Deagu 2011 World Championships and London 2012 Olympic Games.
