Ristananna Tracey returned to her alma mater, Edwin Allen High, on February 27 to present the track team with a washing machine.
Tracey, the World Championships 400m hurdles bronze medallist, decided to make the presentation because of the tough time she faced during her high school days.
“Being a student-athlete is very difficult as most of us are from poor family backgrounds and can only afford a few uniforms and training gears,” said.
“I donated the washing machine because I was once a boarder and it was very difficult to wash clothes by hand after an hectic day of school and training.”
“It was only fitting that I make life more easier for the girls on the dorm,” she said.
