MOSCOW, Russia – Yelena Isinbayeva has insisted there is no systematic doping system in Russia, according to Sport Express.
“Taking or not taking illegal drugs is the primary responsibility of the athlete. The members of the Russian national team are adults; they have their own head on their shoulders,” she said.
Isinbayeva added she has never thought about taking performance enhancing drugs. “I refuse to take illegal drugs because there is nothing more important than your health, your reputation and the health of your children.”
She also said her dream is to have three Olympic gold medals and to clear 5.15m.
Last week, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) received official notice from the IOC that eight A samples of Russian Olympians from three sports were positive for banned substances after retesting London Olympic Games samples.
